Walking further on from the two pavilions will take you to Wei-Er Tower, also known as Chingcheng Terrace. It too was constructed as part of 300th anniversary celebrations, with funds primarily contributed by the Daitian Temple in Kaohsiung City. The 3-storey structure, reflecting northern architectural lines, was designed by Tainan City’s Tsai Yun-chi. The connecting bridge was built by Chen Tien-liou and paintings were rendered by Pan Li-shui of Tainan City. The tower, while imposing, embodies a classical elegance that fits in well with its surroundings. Its greens and reds add aesthetic warmth under the shade of trees and add tremendously to the beauty of the garden here – a true home of the Immortals.
