Three centuries passed before Nankunshen Daitian Temple held a formal consecration ceremony. Lord Wufu, during an outing on March 27th, 1968, instructed that a 7-day celebration of the temple’s 300th anniversary and of the opening of Wanshan Temple be held that same year, from the 11th to the 17th of (lunar calendar) September.

This festival was officiated by the 63rd master of the Daoist Sihan Tianshi Temple, Master Chin Teng-fu. The program included numerous rituals and ceremonies. Seventeen dou lanterns were set up to receive the obeisance of worshippers arriving from across the island. An unprecedented 3,000 gods, spirits and heavenly representatives made their way to Nankunshen for this spectacular event.

Over 13,000 tables were spread out in an amazing display of the extent of Five Lord worship. The 85 fishing boats from Budai, Shidong and Wangliao anchored along the banks of Jishui Stream, only added further majesty to festivities.
